Attract already trained divers to join your club by making 'Already a scuba diver' information obvious on your club's website.

When someone who has already learnt to dive visits your website they need to be able to see, within seconds, information that's relevant to them. By making 'Already a scuba diver' or 'Already trained scuba divers' or 'Already a qualified scuba diver' easy to find you will help those people get to the information they want quickly, and give you the best chance of receiving an enquiry.

Three quick wins to enhance your 'Already a scuba diver?' content

  1. Make sure your 'Already a scuba diver?' page is visible in the main menu of your website.
In your club's top navigation menu try to have the following pages: Try scuba diving, Learn to scuba dive, Already a scuba diver?, Scuba diver training, Dive calendar, Contact us (some of these menu items will have sub-menu items too depending on how you structure your website).
  2. Have a strong call to action (CTA) on your homepage to guide users to your 'Already a scuba diver?' page.
Inspiration - Hartford Sub-Aqua Club gets the message across really well on their website that they welcome divers from all agencies, click to see how they do it.
  3. On your Already a scuba diver? page make it super obvious that other agency trained divers can join your club and you can offer Scuba Refresher sessions for them.
Inspiration - Warrington Sub-Aqua Club have a good example of this on their Already a diver? page, check it out.

The 'quick wins' above should be pretty quick to implement (less than 10 minutes each), if you need any support please contact Jessica or Debbie at BSAC on 0151 350 6224 or email us.

If you have got a little more time you might want to think about optimising your Already a scuba diver? webpage even further...

Optimise your Already a scuba diver? webpage

Already trained divers looking at your website need to see quickly that they have a place in your club.

Already a scuba diver? webpage content

  • The content of your page needs to have clear headings and get to the point quickly, don't add unnecessary content.
  • 'Trained with PADI' or 'are you a qualified scuba diver?' or 'already qualified' are amongst the phrases that will resonate with existing divers. Be sure to let divers know they can join with the qualifications they have, they don't need to retrain with BSAC (unless they want to).
  • Offer refresher courses or one-to-one training for those who have learnt on holiday a while ago.
  • List the benefits of joining your club - club life, social events, packed dive trip calendar, regular Skill Development Courses and further diver training courses.
  • List the benefits of joining BSAC - see BSAC membership benefits.
  • Offer a 'no commitment' first club night visit to meet everyone or ask them to join you on a dive trip to show them what it's all about. Already trained divers can dive up to seven times within a year with a club before joining and still be covered with BSAC’s insurance.

Get testimonials from your other agency trained members

Ask your existing members to review their experience of joining your club. This can either be a written review or you could film them on your phone describing their experience, videos under 1 minute long are best.

It's better to use videos of your own members if you can, but please feel free to use the video below from BSAC - Alex Ratcliffe’s experience as a crossover to BSAC Sports Diver.

Simply view the video on Vimeo, click the 'share icon' (paper aeroplane symbol) and copy the 'embed code'. Please contact Imi at BSAC on 0151 350 6258 or by email if you need support with this.

At the same time, please get them to review your club on its Google maps listing too.
