Volunteers make the BSAC world go round. Would you like to make a difference in your club? Learn new skills?

There are lots of reasons why people volunteer for BSAC – but they all agree on one thing – it’s one of the most rewarding experiences you can have. One pool session, club night or trip at a time, they change people’s lives for the better and help grow the nation’s love of diving and snorkelling.

Volunteer in your club

Anyone can make a difference. To volunteer in a club you don’t even have to be a qualified diver yet. You could help with welcoming new members on Try Dive nights, you could help organise an event of some kind or get involved with the marketing or PR of the club. Successful clubs involve as many members as possible in their plans and activities. Ask how you could get involved.

Become an instructor

Becoming an instructor takes your scuba or snorkelling experience to another level. You will develop your own diving skills plus experience the joy of sharing the sport you love with others. Many members go on to become instructors as they feel they want to give something back having been taught themselves by volunteer instructors. From Sports Diver members can start on the route to become an instructor. In just a two-day course you could become an Assistant Diving Instructor by completing the Instructor Foundation Course.

Can you write?

If you have writing skills BSAC needs volunteers to write courses and copy for the website and Facebook, please get in touch if have these skills. The intellectual property of any materials written by volunteers remains the property of BSAC and must not be used elsewhere unless written approval has been received.
