Diving safety is essential to all divers. We want all scuba divers to focus on prevention rather than the resolution of incidents.
To help prevent diving incidents BSAC compiles the Annual Diving Incident Report. Every year BSAC reports on diving incidents in the UK, from all diver training agencies, as part of its role as National Governing Body. The data is gathered from incident report forms, through the Maritime & Coastguard Agency, the RNLI, MOD Superintendent of Diving, PADI EMEA, and RoSPA. Read Annual Diving Incident Report 2018.
BSAC hopes to promote and develop the 'best practice' in diving safety for divers regardless of agency affiliation or location across the world. For snorkelling safety, please see our snorkelling section.
