Sell Try Dive Vouchers to boost club funds and get new members
Now is a great time to be promoting Try Dives in your club, have you thought about selling Try Dive Vouchers to help get Try Divers in your club and boost your club funds? You could even start promoting the vouchers as Christmas gift ideas...
Download a Try Dive Voucher template and personalise it with your club's details.
Download Try Dive Voucher artwork
We have designed an editable PDF for you to download and use as often as you like. Simply download and add:
- your club’s name, website address and logo
- the voucher details e.g. voucher number, date and how to redeem
- print the vouchers ready to sell
Download editable PDF - this can then be printed and given (we recommend with a cover letter, see below) to the person purchasing the voucher for their gift.
Getting people to buy your vouchers
Use your club’s Social media pages
1. Post a picture of an excited person looking to camera and holding a sample voucher, along with a photo of a scuba diver in a pool:
What do you get for the person who has everything? Scuba diving is an amazing experience for many. Treat your friends and family to a Try Dive for Christmas. Contact *insert your details* to buy a Try Dive voucher for only £XX!
2. Boost this post into an ad for as little as £10
Facebook Ads are a really great way to get more people viewing your posts, and hopefully purchasing your Try Dive Vouchers. Once the post has been made, click the blue 'Boost Post' button and follow the instructions to turn this into an ad.
Make sure your target audience is set to your area (we usually recommend a 25km radius) and set up the budget to your specifications. For a step-by-step video on boosting Facebook posts, visit our page How to get new members by boosting Facebook posts.
3. Share this post to your club's Instagram pages (and ask your members to share and comment on it too!)
Not all social media channels reach the same people, so make sure you post on the social channels that you have. Use hashtags #giftsforhim #giftsforher #giftsforkids as well as scuba diving hashtags #learntoscubadive #scuba to reach as many people as possible who are in gift browsing mode.
4. Try Dive Vouchers are not just for Christmas
Don’t stop there - keep telling the world you offer vouchers when advertising Try Dive and Learn to dive events. Add a line to the end of your Facebook Posts and Event listings such as:
‘We offer Try Dive Vouchers if you're looking for something different to give as a birthday or Christmas gift. Please contact *insert your details* to buy.'
Use your club’s website
Simply pop a line on your Try Dive, Learn to scuba dive and Training website pages to say something like:
We sell Try Dive Vouchers. Scuba diving is an amazing experience for many. Treat your friends and family to a gift with a difference! Contact *insert your details or link to your contact page* to buy a Try Dive Voucher for only £XX.
Advertise Try Dive Vouchers on your posters and flyers
Simply write under your contact details ‘We do Try Dive Vouchers’ on your Try Dive and Learn to dive posters and flyers. You could think about putting these materials (ask first!) in your local pool or sports centre, doctors, dentists, pubs and restaurants, supermarket notice boards, scout and guide meeting places, schools, your workplace…
Use your club network
It’s worth offering a ‘friends and family’ discount to your club members. Advertise the vouchers to your club members at a discounted rate e.g. £5 off. You could tell your club about them at your next club night and post it on your Club’s Facebook Page or Group.
How to price your Try Dive Vouchers
Price your vouchers the same as your club’s ‘normal’ Try Dives, but remember not to put the cost on the voucher itself.
Administration of your vouchers
The template is set up with a faint dotted line to cut to, we suggest printing your vouchers on nice paper or card and then cut to size. To stop your vouchers being duplicated (counterfeit vouchers) keep track of the voucher numbers you assign against the names of the people they are being bought for.
Pop the voucher in an envelope with a cover letter and instructions on how to redeem (something more in detail than what’s on the voucher if you need it). Download a sample cover letter here, please edit the details to fit your club.
You could also send out one of the Learn to dive folded flyers in this envelope to give the Try Diver some more information. Order them for free here.
We have spoken to clubs who do sell Try Dive Vouchers and they often make £300 - £400 a year for their club. If you have had even more success with this please let us know, we’d love to hear from you marketing@bsac.com.
