Here you can find the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions about the new MyBSAC platform, powered by Sport:80.
Can you make Stripe payment links for things such as try divers, scuba refresh or kit hire?
We will roll out access to Stripe later this year but charges will be applied by Stripe which each Club will have to pay.
When adding new members, can we select branch levy with Direct Debit (DD)?
Yes, you will be able to select the club fee for each member and chose the DD option.
Can you give any more detail about the expected future use/operation of the Stripe accounts, as these appear to carry charges of 1.5% + 20p per transaction.
A separate club Stripe account is optional but the club would then have to pay the Stripe commission fees.
Can we have a different fee for DD versus non-DD? My branch offers a £10 discount for DD since it is less admin chasing people and retention is better.
You can set up a new levy category so you can have a higher fee for non-DD members.
Can branches decide whether to accept monthly payments as they do now? Also can branches have the option to only accept auto-renewal?
Yes to both.
Is there still a £10 discount for the first year of direct debit signup?
We are not able to continue the DD discount.
Can members still pay via club and not by Direct Debit. Is the payment system only for card payments?
You will be able to pay by bank transfer.
Will each individual member have to re-set up their Direct Debit on the new system? And what about those currently in setup? (our club has just switched a lot of members to DD so quite a few waiting for first payment to land).
All current DD instructions will be carried over to the new system and will be collected by Stripe/ Sport80 and so any members with an active DD will be transferred over.
Can we still pay memberships to HQ by bank transfer, as we do now when the renewal notice comes from the BSAC membership team?
Yes, you will be able to select bank transfer as a payment option.
