Who approved medical declarations – is it just the Diving Officer or any Club Officer?
Any of the six main Club Officers - Membership Secretary, Secretary, Treasurer, Training Officer, Diving Officer, Chair - can approve medical declarations.
Is the end date for the medical declaration being imported into the new system? Or do we have to do a new self cert etc on first logon?
Only for the self dec medicals, those with a medical referee will need to upload their medical and entre the expiry date.
If you say you have a medical referee for two years, how do you set the start date as they may be part way through validity. For example, an existing diver joining from another club/organisation.
You can set the expiry date of medical certificates.
Does the system send reminders to members when their medical expires?
Members will be able to see if their medical has expired. The club can also create a smart list showing those members with expired or no medical listed.
Can you still get a hard copy of the medical questions?
Yes, these will be listed in the medical Self Declaration section of the BAC website.
What level of checking of medical declaration by Club Officers is expected?
The Club Officers will be alerted when a member completes the medical section for them to approve. This will be a notification that the member has answered no to all the self dec questions. Alternatively, there will be a notification to approve a member’s medical referee certificate that the member has uploaded.
If a diver answers yes to any questions on the self-declaration form and gets a medical, what do they do with the signed medical?
They can upload and select the length of time the medical has been signed off for i.e. one year, or two years. This will appear on their account and the Club Officers will be notified for approval.
How is confidentiality monitored around medical forms?
This would be the same way that the club deals with them now, Also it will only be the six main Club Officers who will be able to approve.
