Compressor Operation
Would you like to be able to operate a compressor to fill diving cylinders?

This half-day course teaches the basics of compressor operation suitable to fill cylinders, with air, for diving purposes. Theory is combined with practical experience of use of the compressor. If you would like to be able to fill your own cylinders and assist club activities this is a suitable course for you.
Regular practice maintains confidence and will lead to opportunities to expand skills with additional gases.

Entry requirement 
The course is open to all and will include explanations of cylinder markings for those not familiar with them.

What you’ll learn
• Principles of the physics of compressed gases
• Theory associated with the compressor
• Hands on practice of using a compressor

Learning materials
Your course pack includes all the learning materials you need for the course. The pack includes the Compressor Operation course manual and a Qualification Card application.

How to do this course...

If you are a member:
You can do the Compressor Operation course either at a BSAC Regional Event, at a commercial BSAC Centre or in your BSAC club. Not all clubs run their own Compressor Operation courses, please check with your Diving Officer if you are interested.

If you are not a BSAC member:
You can do this course by joining a local BSAC club and training with other club members or through a BSAC Regional Event. Or you could do the course at a BSAC Centre.

Your next steps
After this course you could further your training by doing another Skill Development Courses (SDCs) or you could progress with a Diver Grade Course
