Diving with a purpose has a positive effect on member retention, as discovered by Tyneside 114, when they created a diver trail for the Farnes’ Gun Rocks site. 

The project certainly helped retain members and encouraged working together. It also funded training such as boat handling and RYA VHF, helping build the club’s skills base as well as personal dive development.
