On Tuesday 14 October, 11-year-old Jojo will be diving with sharks at Skegness Aquarium Dive & Snorkelling Centre as part of his lifelong dream to 'save the oceans.'

Jojo was adopted as a baby and has faced huge challenges in his young life. He has Foetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, a learning disability, and autism. At just six years old, he underwent major bowel surgery and now lives with an ileostomy. Even during his long hospital stays, Jojo’s focus never wavered — he would wake up from surgery asking, “Did I save the ocean yet?”

Since then, Jojo has raised over £4,000 for marine charities through sponsored swims, litter picks, and selling cakes and handmade cards. His next adventure is to dive with sharks at Skegness Aquarium — something he’s dreamed of for years.

Jojo’s inspiration comes from his biggest hero, Steve Backshall, who he has met on several occasions.

Tank shark dives are wonderful educational experiences which give participants the opportunity to understand sharks and the importance of their conservation. To spend time with them is educational, enlightening and unforgettable for both the participant and their one spectator.

The Skegness Dive & Snorkelling Centre has developed its experiences in partnership with BSAC and educational partner The Shark Trust to offer the high quality entry-level diver and snorkelling training and shark conservation information.

You can help make JoJo's day as special as possible by supporting his ongoing fundraising for The Shark Trust

And Steve Backshall, if you're free on 14th October - JoJo would love you to join him in the tank...! 🦈
