Between Christmas Day and the end of January is a great time to promote your club to potential new members.
Here’s why...
- It’s a time when people plan ahead and look for new challenges.
- People have more time to do things, like sign up for a Try Dive!
- The first quarter of the year is a good time to run an Ocean Diver course.
Here are our top tips to help you get the most out of the opportunity that the New Year presents. As you know, Try Dives are a great way of getting more trainees into your club, so it’s important than to progress those Try Dive leads.
Tip 1 – Tackle any instructor resource issues
If you are short of instructors please ask for help so this doesn't restrict this seasonal Try Dive initiative and your club’s new member intake. Read advice for clubs on how to resolve instructor shortages.
Tip 2 – Review your ‘learn to dive’ web page
Having a great ‘Learn to dive’ and/or ‘Try Dive’ page on your website is really important. Read our tips for learn to dive and Try Dive webpages.
Tip 3 – Keep social feeds active over the festive season
Lots of content that paints an inviting picture of your club to potential new members could pay dividends. Get some festive content ideas from us!
Tip 4 – Promote a Facebook post on Christmas Eve
Schedule a Facebook post in advance (to go live on Christmas Eve) to encourage people to learn to dive or book a Try Dive. Then once live, set up a ‘boost’ for £2/day for 12 days (‘boosting’ takes 60 seconds). You can find a how-to guide on boosting Facebook posts online.
Tip 5 – Remember the 24-hour rule
Answer all enquiries within 24 hours if possible and keep the Try Divers up to date. Send out a reminder before the event to everyone who has signed up.
