As part of their Caribbean tour, The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge have recently been scuba diving in Belize, home to the second-largest barrier reef in the world.

Following in the footsteps of his father and grandfather, The Duke of Cambridge became BSAC’s President in 2014. The royal couple shared a video of their experience diving in Belize, and the Duke noted the country's ongoing efforts to protect its coral and marine life, saying:

While the effects of climate change are evident, the Government of Belize and communities across the country deserve huge recognition for their efforts to restore this incredible marine environment - with a commitment to protect 30% of it by 2030.

The Duke and Duchess shared this video of their diving experience on Twitter:

Speaking of his Presidency of BSAC, The Duke has previously said he hopes it will inspire his children and other youngsters to explore the underwater world. He said:

Just like my grandfather and my father, I am proud to say that I learnt to dive with BSAC, and share your passion for the sport and the underwater world. I have been fortunate enough to have dived in some stunning locations around the world. Scuba diving really has opened my eyes not only to many extraordinary sights, but also to the responsibilities that we have as guardians of the underwater world. Which is why, as BSAC's new President, I hope to continue my father's legacy of striving to preserve and protect our precious marine heritage and environment for future generations.
