If you’re already a qualified scuba diver—whether trained with PADI, SSI, RAID, SDI or another agency—there’s a whole new world of diving opportunities waiting for you with the British Sub-Aqua Club (BSAC). And the best part? You can jump straight in without repeating training you’ve already done.
At BSAC, we believe that diving should be accessible, adventurous, and most of all - fun. That’s why we welcome divers from all agencies to join our community-based network and start exploring the best of UK diving from day one.
No crossover course needed - just bring your qualifications and dive in!
Unlike some organisations, BSAC doesn’t require crossover training to join us. If you’re already qualified, we recognise your experience and qualifications. That means no extra forms, no hidden costs, and no starting from scratch. Simply find your local BSAC club (or drop us an enquiry, we’ll do it for you), get connected, and you’re ready to dive.

Why join BSAC?
1. A community of passionate UK divers
BSAC is built around local dive clubs. That means when you join, you’re not just signing up for a membership—you’re joining a community. Whether you’re new to UK waters or looking to find a regular dive buddy, you’ll find a warm welcome in a BSAC club. Most have regular meets and/or pool nights, too.
2. Access to UK diving adventures
From dramatic shipwrecks and historic sites to vibrant marine life and stunning sea lochs, the UK has some of the most underrated diving in the world. BSAC clubs run trips year-round, often with access to kit, club boats and compressors etc, so you can dive more and travel less.
3. Keep learning, at your pace
Want to expand your skills? BSAC offers a flexible training programme that builds on what you already know. Whether it’s wreck diving, nitrox, or progressing to Dive Leader and beyond, you can train with experienced instructors in real-world conditions.
4. Dive with confidence
BSAC’s approach to training and safety is designed for UK conditions—often more challenging than tropical destinations. So even if you’ve learned to dive abroad, joining a BSAC club can help you become a more confident and capable UK diver.
5. Affordable and inclusive
With club-led diving and voluntary instructors, BSAC offers incredible value. And because it’s a not-for-profit, everything goes back into supporting members and clubs—not shareholders.
