BSAC members will be able to have all their essential membership details right at their fingertips when the soon-to-be-launched MyBSAC app goes live.

Available from the end of September, the free MyBSAC app has been developed to directly support members’ diving and training.

The move to create the MyBSAC app has also been a key part of BSAC’s strategy, prioritising a closer and more engaged BSAC-to-member relationship. This includes a focus on adopting new technologies to improve both member services and the member experience.

BSAC IT manager, and app project manager, Chris Horan, said:

The MyBSAC app will give members instant and easy access to their BSAC membership and diving details, meaning it is an invaluable tool for divers and snorkellers, whenever and wherever they are.

To be launched on both iOS and Android, the MyBSAC app is quick to install and set up, and intuitive to use. Via the new app, members will have instant access to their:

  • Membership/qualification cards and medical form – meaning members can prove their BSAC membership, diving or snorkelling qualification as well as medical status anytime, anywhere.
  • Membership information – so that members can check which plan they are on, their membership number, when their membership is due for renewal, and other details linked to their membership such as address and email (which can be edited).

Once the new MyBSAC app goes live, all members will be directly contacted with full details on how to

download and sign in to the app. A brief guide to using the MyBSAC app will also be available.

There are also plans for the app to incorporate an online Qualification Record Book (QRB), holding digitised versions of a member’s training records as well as providing a facility for instructors to record progression and sign off qualifications.

BSAC CEO Mary Tetley said she hoped the app would quickly become an essential tool for members to use and enjoy.

With the BSAC strategy putting a renewed focus on enhanced communication, the MyBSAC app will become an essential part of making BSAC membership as easy and as accessible as possible.

And the app’s phase one is just the start, as there are some more exciting developments to follow, which will add even more value to the BSAC member experience.
