BSAC club Cayman Islands Divers have finished what they started and cleaned up and entire beach blighted by discarded polystyrene.

As reported in November 2025, the productive BSAC branch in the Caribbean previously removed 28 bin bags full of waste left behind from a makeshift raft.

Determined to see the job through and under the initiative of Samantha Cooper, the club's designated Marine Champion, members returned to finish the job.

A team of volunteers collected all the polystyrene that washed up onto the shore - a whopping 75 sackfuls in the end.

The story made headlines in the Cayman Islands' national newspaper.

Spotters Bay has now returned to a pristine natural state, thanks to BSAC volunteers at Cayman Islands Divers, and another win for the Marine Champions!
