BSAC has welcomed another dive centre into the fold, with Sheffield-based Diveworld joining the Branch+Centre Partnership scheme, designed to connect BSAC centres with local clubs to support members’ diver training and progression.
Three PADI instructors from Diveworld recently completed the BSAC instructor training course at Capernwray, meaning they can also deliver BSAC’s Diver Training Programme. And, as the oldest PADI dive centre in Sheffield, Diveworld brings a wealth of scuba experience to the Branch+Centre Partnership scheme.
Diveworld’s co-owner and PADI Course Director, Steve Hird, who took part in the BSAC Instructor course, said the opportunity to become a BSAC partner centre complemented their commitment to making scuba accessible.
When we received the offer from BSAC to become a Partner Centre, and given details of how the connection could work, it fitted perfectly with the ethos that we have always held. It has always been our aim to deliver quality training and diving opportunities to all divers, and anyone wishing to learn to dive. The partnership arrangement should make this more of a reality.
BSAC’s Mark Paisey, coordinator of the Branch+Centre Partnership, said Diveworld and their new BSAC Instructors were a great addition to the scheme.
I would like to welcome Diveworld as they fill a key geographic area for BSAC. We look forward to working with them to support the Sheffield area’s two university branches, local clubs, and new members to BSAC.
