BSAC is staging a bumper weekend of diver and instructor training, plus Skill Development Courses (SDCs) at the Britannia Royal Naval College in Dartmouth.
To be held over the weekend of 25 and 26 April, BSAC's Big Training Weekend – which is the first of its kind – will bring together instructors from across the regional scheme to deliver a host of SDCs and training sessions for all BSAC club and direct members. The venue is pretty special and gives participants access to the excellent facilities of the historic college.
Training available over the weekend includes Chartwork and Position Fixing, Ocean Diver pool training, Diver Coxswain prep and assessment, Practical Instructor Exam (PIE) preparation, Dive Leader open water lessons, Oxygen Administration and Practical Rescue Management. Bespoke training is also available on request. For those needing to travel, accommodation at the college is available at a special rate of £20 for the weekend (Friday and Saturday night).
BSAC National Coaching Advisor Mark Paisey said the aim of the bumper training weekend was to provide a national training weekend to support and complement regional and club training.
The idea to bring members together and meet each other whilst training is designed to solve many club problems like lack of pool space or instructor resources. We are very lucky to be able to hold the event at such a prestigious location and the weekend should be an enjoyable and productive event for all.
