Phone Float Throw is the new bystander rescue campaign from action group, Respect The Water - designed to install a simple message for bystanders.

The National Water Safety Forum (NWSF), of which BSAC is a member, launches Phone Float Throw, the latest Respect The Water campaign. The new campaign aims to empower people to take positive action if they see someone in trouble in the water, while remaining safe themselves.

Phone Float Throw - what to do

If you see someone in trouble in the water remember the following:

  • Phone 999 to get help
  • Tell them to stay calm and float on their back
  • Throw rescue equipment to help them float until emergency services arrive.
