As BSAC’s first-ever Marine Champion Action Weekend gets underway, we’re wishing all of our dedicated Marine Champions the very best of luck as they head out to support and protect the UK’s incredible underwater and coastal environments.

In a special video message, Katherine Knight thanks volunteers for their enthusiasm and commitment to marine conservation, while encouraging even more BSAC members to get involved.

From beach cleans and citizen science projects to helping raise awareness of marine issues in local communities, Marine Champions play a vital role in protecting the waters we all love to dive, snorkel and explore.

The Action Weekend marks an exciting new step for the programme, bringing together clubs and members from across the country to make a positive impact both above and below the surface.

ArthurGood luck from Arthur, the sea dog

I don’t have opposable thumbs, so I can’t pick up litter myself… but if I did, I’d definitely be a BSAC Marine Champion!

Good luck to everyone taking part in the Marine Champion Action Weekend — keep our oceans clean, our sea life safe, and maybe save a tennis ball or two while you’re at it. Woof!
