It's that time of year again. On Saturday 12 December 2026, Jurassic Aqua Sports is heading out of Portland Marina for its annual Christmas Santa Dive, and this year Jurassic wants to make it their biggest fundraiser yet.

Pull on the red suit, fasten the white beard and get on board for a morning of diving, festive food and good cheer, with every penny going to the volunteer crew at Weymouth RNLI.

Two dives, all levels welcome

It's ropes off at 9.30am from Portland Marina aboard Jurassic's hard-boat, Waverider. The first dive is on the wreck of the British Inventor, lying at 18–21m, followed by a second dive to round off the morning.

Both dives are suitable for all levels, so whether you've just qualified or you've been diving Portland for decades, there's a place for you on board. It's a brilliant way to get one last sea dive in before the year is out, and to share it with a boat full of fellow Santas.

Festive fuel on board

December diving in Dorset calls for proper refreshments, and the team have got you covered. Between dives you'll be served:

  • Hot pasties
  • Hot mince pies
  • Plenty of hot chocolate, topped with whipped cream and marshmallows

Warming, filling and very Christmassy: everything you need after a winter dive.

Diving for the people who keep us safe at sea

The volunteer crews of the RNLI are there for everyone who goes to sea, divers included, whatever the weather and whatever the time of year. The Santa Dive is one way of saying thank you.

Over the past five years, the Santa divers have raised an incredible £7,118.80 for Weymouth RNLI. Once again, every penny raised will go straight to the station. Help Jurassic Aqua Sports beat it!

After the dive, members are invited to attend the draw in Salt at Portland Marina from 3.30pm: the perfect place to warm up, swap stories and see how much has been raised together.

Book now: only 12 spaces

Places are strictly limited to 12 divers, and they always go fast. To book your space, visit jurassicaquasports.co.uk/rnli-fundraising.

Dust off the Santa suit and we'll see you on the boat. Ho ho ho!
