BSAC has welcomed its new Council member David George, who has been co-opted onto the Board as a Director until the 2027 AGM.
David learned to dive at school more than forty years ago and does most of his diving in the UK along the south coast. He is a BSAC National Instructor, currently the South West Regional Coach and has held club committee positions whilst at university and in several locations around the UK. He has also held the BSAC Open Water Instructor Chief Examiner role.
David is an electrical and electronics engineer by profession and is keen to use his diving, engineering, auditing and ISO standards knowledge and experience to support the work of the BSAC Council in its strategic aims and to represent the membership as effectively as possible. He is particularly keen to support the club ethos which, he believes, is central to BSAC’s ongoing success.
Council Chair, Andy Shenstone said:
David brings extensive experience as a senior instructor, instructor trainer and volunteer. He succeeds Michelle Haywood who has stood down. I'd like to thank Michelle for her work on Council over the past 14 months.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to David. I look forward to our working together.
