Some exciting late-breaking news: BSAC will be flying the flag at Vobster Quay's very first Lakeside Summer Dive+Party on Saturday 1st August — and we'd love you to join us.
Vobster Quay, the popular inland dive site in the heart of the Somerset countryside, is hosting its biggest event of the year: a full day of diving followed by an evening of live music, food, fun and games on the lakeside — all in aid of the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance.

BSAC will have a stand in the exhibitors' area right beside the quayside, with regional BSAC reps on hand throughout the diving day. Whether you've got questions about training, want to chat about what's happening in your region, or just fancy putting faces to names, come and find us — we'll be in the thick of the action.
Try the latest dive kit — in the water
Sharing the exhibitors' area will be the teams from Fourth Element, Suunto UK and Kent Tooling, and this is no "look but don't touch" affair. Divers will be able to take a wide range of demo gear into the water, from cutting-edge exposure protection to the latest dive computers. If you're weighing up your next kit purchase, this is a genuine try-before-you-buy opportunity.
A day of diving, an evening of celebration
The diving runs from 07:30 to 16:00 — perfect for catching up on training or building experience in a safe, controlled open water venue. Then from 18:00 the lakeside comes alive with three live music acts — headlined by Glastonbury-festival veteran Sam Evans and his band — followed by a DJ set until 22:00.
Your party ticket includes a hot meal freshly prepared on site (with meat, vegan and gluten-free options) plus dessert, and there's a fully licensed bar serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks. Add in freediving and breathing workshops from acclaimed instructor trainer Emma Farrell, plus a host of gloriously silly Country Fayre games raising money for charity, and there really is something for everyone.

This is a ready-made summer social for divers. For this day only, non-Vobster members pay the same price as members, so it's the perfect opportunity to bring along friends, family and trainees:

Somerset has plenty of accommodation options nearby if you fancy making a weekend of it, including a friendly campsite at Tucker's Grave just ten minutes away (book early — it fills up fast in summer).
