ANNOUNCEMENT WITH REGARDS TO CHANGES TO DISCLOSURE & BARRING SERVICE (CRB CHECKING)
As you are already aware we have been using new forms for carrying out DBS (CRB) checks. Under the Protection of Freedom Act 2012, the Government implemented some further changes to the DBS system. Disclosure certificates will now only be issued to the applicant and BSAC is no longer provided with a copy of the certificate as we were in the past.
BSAC must adhere to this change in administration of disclosures.

New ID Checking Guidelines
There have been some recent changes announced by the Home Office and the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) which will impact on the current ID checking guidelines for anyone identity-checkingDBS forms within our branches.
These changes come into effect from the 31st August, 2012. These changes are only relevant to BSAC branches who have young people or vunerable adults as current members.
