A Brief Description of the Cover
BSAC’s Third-Party Liability insurance policy provides BSAC members with:
Public Liability – provides cover for your legal liability to pay compensation (including legal costs) for death or bodily injury, or damage to third party property arising in the course of your activities as a BSAC member, BSAC Instructor or BSAC Club, provided that you are operating within your BSAC qualification.
Please see the Q & A document on the right for more information.
The following activities are included (but this list is not exhaustive):
- Club diving trips
- Club social events
- Club fundraising events
- Try dives
The limit of indemnity for third party liability is £10,000,000.
As this is a civil liability policy, the current policy does not include liability arising from deliberate criminal acts, but does include non-deliberate manslaughter, corporate manslaughter & culpable homicide defence costs, in relation to a diving activity/ incident, for clubs and members.
This policy coverage applies anywhere in the world but excludes Iran, Syria, Crimea, Ukraine, Russia & North America (USA & Canada). Please ensure your EU NHS card is still valid prior to travelling to EU Countries.
