60 years of BSAC 1953 - 2013
BSAC is officially Diamond!
"Sixty years after two British divers came together, united by a ‘mutual interest in underwater activities’, 2013 is set to be a year-long celebration of all things BSAC.
This milestone should not be underestimated – for 60 amazing years BSAC has been at the heart of British diving – both at home and around the world.
From the early-day diving pioneers – those wonderful, adventurous men and women who pushed the boundaries towards today’s recreational diving - through to the everyday club divers and snorkellers who continue to build on that legacy by doing what they love, BSAC has been there every step of the way.
And so, as we roll out a fantastic year of 60th anniversary events and celebrations, I would like to say thank you to everyone who has played a role over the past 60 years. Thank you for making scuba diving what it is today – an accessible, aspirational yet safe sport that still ticks all the boxes with regard to adventure, discovery and exploration…and continues to capture the imagination of thousands of new divers every year.
Let's really polish the BSAC Diamond this year and make 2013 a year to remember!" Mary Tetley, BSAC Chief Executive
