The Sudan Experience
You can now discover the beauty of the Sudanese Red Sea in comfort and safety with blue o two. Safaris to Sudan will commence onboard M/Y blue Fin from 2011.
Why Dive in Sudan?
Due to a history in difficult access, there are very few liveaboards operating in this region; meaning that dive sites have remained beautifully pristine and divers are able to explore them in practical solitude.
Sudan is well known for a rich diversity of marine life; not only are the coral reefs untouched, you can also see huge numbers of schooling fish along with barracuda, tuna, moral eels and sea turtles to name just a few. Large pelagics such as hammerheads, tiger sharks, reef sharks and mantas are also common. Aside from the abundance of stunning marine life, the Sudanese waters are also home to the WW2 wreck ‘The Umbria’ and Cousteau’s ‘Conshelf II’ making Sudan the perfect destination for any diver looking for a real adventure.
The Itinerary – Adventures in Sudan
This is the perfect itinerary for divers who would like a change from the Egyptian Red Sea and are also looking for a bit of adventure. Famed for its pristine coral reefs, abundant marine life and historic sites, Sudan is a real untouched underwater paradise.
Itinerary highlights include; Wingate reef and the ‘Umbria’ Wreck, Shaab Rumi and ‘Conshelf II’, Angarosh, Abington, Sanganeb, Shaab Suadi and the Blue Belt wreck.
Due to diving conditions and remote location, divers must be a minimum of PADI Advanced Open Water (or equivalent) with 50 logged divers to join this itinerary.
The Maldives Experience
The Vessel – M/V Carpe Diem
Built in 2008, M/V Carpe Diem is a 35m luxury liveaboard with separate fully equipped diving dhoni. Cabins and other facilities are spread over four decks and so with a maximum capacity of 20 guests, the vessel never feels cramped.
The Itineraries
The itineraries below outline a basic route for the week; however this is changeable and always dependant on weather, the number of other boats at a site and most importantly, local seasonal knowledge. We always try our hardest to provide you with the best possible diving.
Best of the Northern Atolls
This itinerary takes in one of the most spectacular diving areas in the Maldives and offers the chance of Manta Ray and Whale Shark sightings all year round.
Pelagic Encounters
This itinerary focuses on the Southern region of Ari Atoll with the purpose of seeking out the larger pelagics. More channel diving is offered to maximise your chances of ‘big fish’ encounters and Manta cleaning stations are also visited.
