tcpaward(120x136q60a2).jpg The first ever BSAC Travel Photography Award has been won by Pedro Vieyra whose award winning picture of a silver tip reef shark drew a "wow" from the audience at the BSAC Diving Officers' Conference in London when it was shown. (SEE IT HERE)

The competition was judged by world famous photographer Linda Dunk who presented the award and gave a talk on underwater photography to the assembled delegates. Pedro wins a trip to the Coral Sea on Undersea Explorer.

Joint runners up were Anthony Holley (grey seal at the Farnes)(SEE IT HERE)
and Christopher Hillman (Lionfish) (SEE IT HERE).

It was particularly pleasing to see a photograph taken in British waters win a prize - and to give hope to us all, it was taken with a compact digital camera.

We received over 700 pictures during the year that the competition ran - obviously it was extremely popular. Well done to everyone who took part - the photographs are stunning and can be seen on the BSAC Travel website, just browse the Gallery left at the left of this page.

BSAC Travel are running a new competition in 2005 with some exciting new categories, including one for newcomers - so what are you waiting for - get snapping!
