London Region

London region is the BSAC’s smallest region. Its border does meander quite a bit, but generally we support the clubs and members within the M25 motorway, plus a few branches outside.

Living within the London region does not mean no diving. The south coast and West Country are within easy reach and offer a range of diving options. We also have some local freshwater sites which we regularly visit for training and fun dives, and are soon to offer "roped diving" to further add to members' experiences.

Having a large number of branches concentrated within our relatively small yet densely populated area is really good as it provides an opportunity for regular involvement with our members and branches.

Our Skill Development Course programme of events offers a wide range of courses including welfare related workshops, Automated External Defibrillator and Practical Rescue Management courses. We also run the full range of Instructor Training Scheme events and have a strong interest in Technical Diving.

London continues to be the location of choice for the annual London International Dive Show at ExCeL and the BSAC Diving Officer's Conference and associated social event. In addition to our annual involvement with the Try-Dive and Go-Dive initiatives, we also have a Whacky Olympics fun event and a Best Buddy event. The latter provides an opportunity for children from disadvantaged backgrounds to experience the aqualung in the safety of the pool. We plan to develop a new initiative called Under One Sky which is aimed at promoting locally an interest in our sport to members of all cultural backgrounds. Additionally we usually hold the Festival of Diving annual conference and have our own newsletter to help publicise our activities and events.
