North West Region
The North West Region covers the counties of Cheshire, Lancashire, Merseyside, Greater Manchester and Cumbria, and also includes the Isle of Man.
In addition to excellent open water training facilities, the North West offers a wide diversity of diving from the clear waters around the Isle of Man with its profusion of marine life, to the wrecks of Liverpool Bay and the ample freshwater diving in the beautiful Lake District.
The Regional Coaching team has a number of aims, in the main we want to help
you get the skills and qualifications to do the diving that interests you! To achieve this we run a number of Skill Development Courses within the Region or alternatively can assist you in running these courses within your branch. We run training days for particular diver grades; Dive Leader and Advanced Diver, and can also offer preparation sessions for individuals wishing to undertake instructor examinations or First Class.
Regional Expeditions are run each year and the team rarely say no to the chance of some exciting diving, if you'd like advice or help then we've got the people.
Area Coaches try to visit each of the branches once a year however this isn't always possible with the Region being so geographically large, if you'd like to organise a coaching visit, attend an event or organise one in branch then please get in touch.
The region offers a wide range of BSAC Skill Development Courses to meet demand and particularly where specialist equipment is required. For the diving groups within the region’s Universities and Colleges a yearly competition is held to win the Regional Challenge Shield.
