How to learn to snorkel

general picStructured training
BSAC offer structured snorkelling courses that can be delivered within a BSAC Club or at a dedicated BSAC Snorkelling Centre.

Snorkelling Qualifications
See the document detailing all the BSAC snorkelling and snorkelling instructor grades.

Clubs normally meet weekly and as well as providing excellent training, members also enjoy the social side too. Clubs will organise interesting snorkelling trips both in the UK and overseas. Apart from BSAC membership and a nominal club subscription, clubs are for members, non-commercial and your instructors are fellow members. Clubs can provide snorkelling qualifications from basic to the highest levels.

Snorkelling Centres are usually leisure centres that provide the same high quality snorkel training – but on a commercial basis, similar to swimming classes. Courses can usually be staged in a shorter timescales with more frequent pool time available and can often suit those who want to learn quickly for holidays etc. Many Centres provide snorkelling activities for children during holiday periods. Centres normally only provide basic qualification levels.
