West Midlands Region
The West Midlands Region covers clubs and members based in Gloucestershire, Worcestershire, Warwickshire, Staffordshire, Shropshire and the West Midlands.
Although this region does not have a coastline, there are several good inland sites, conveniently located within or just outside the region's borders, which can be used for a wide range of diver training. These facilities, together with the wide experience of the regional team instructors, allow the West Midlands to offer a wide range of Skill Development Courses ranging from rescue specialisms such as Practical Rescue Management to technical qualifications including mixed gas and closed-circuit rebreather diving.
In recent years, the West Midlands region has also held workshops and events to assist candidates in preparing for the Advanced Instructor and First Class Diver examinations. We have also run R.E.D.S. expeditions to Croatia to survey a Roman wreck, and to Plymouth to survey the wreck of the Elk.
