We are one of the earliest branches of BSAC . No. 11 was formed here in Great Yarmouth by a small group of pioneering enthusiasts in 1954.

Recreational diving was a very new sport, and
as there were no others in the region, headquaters granted it the title of "East Anglian Branch".
It later became customary to name branches after there home town.
The sport became better known and the BSAC flurished becoming the recognised body governing sport diving in the UK.

To be more central in its catchment area No. 11 branch moved to Norwich where it remains to
this day.
By 1975 it had enough members in the Great Yarmouth area to form a new offshoot, club No. 767. Again offering a very high standard of training in a system that is respected world wide.

Naturally, in nearly half a centry the equipment has evolved in many ways, and Great Yarmouth dive club has moved along with them, with a number of members diving on various types of rebreathers.

With the use of nitrox and modern technology we are able to dive and study the archeology of the many many ship wrecks off the Norfolk and suffolk coast dating back to before the first world war, expanding our knowlage of our nautical past. With the club now runing three RIB,s out of Sea Palling, there is always room for all.
