Totnes BSAC

Our club, BSAC Totnes Sub Aqua Club, celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2023 - we have around 100 members. We have won the prestigious Heinke Trophy twice (1993 & 2006) and were one of runner’s up in 2022. We are renowned for being an excellent training club, from the entry level of Ocean diver through to the top qualification of first Class Diver as well as other technical diving interests such as rebreather diver and various skills courses whether diver coxswain or marine identification & photography. We have some of the top marine photographers in the country as members.
We dive around the south Devon coast from Teignmouth to Plymouth. Our Boatshed is slightly inland at Totnes so we can tow our boats to the sheltered side of the South Devon coast depending on the wind direction. We organise expeditions at home & abroad every year such as to Scapa Flow, Scilly Isles, Cornwall (weekends) and to Malta & the Red Sea. We dive throughout the year weather permitting and if we can’t go into the open water we go to a quarry. We are a very active club and during the summer we dive weekends and during the week with both an after-work shore dive with Fish & Chips afterwards or charter boats out of Plymouth. We organise social events and outings through the year.
