Thank you for your interest in becoming a BSAC Marine Champion - we will be delighted to have you on board!

Before starting your application, you will need the endorsement of your BSAC club – this should be a member of your club’s committee, for example, your Chair or Diving Officer. You should also be aged 18 or over and a current member of BSAC.

As a BSAC Marine Champion, you will be working within your club to engage its members in a range of initiatives to support and protect our marine environment. And so your application will need the support of your club.

Becoming a Marine Champion

As a BSAC Marine Champion, you will be expected to coordinate marine conservation activities within your club. For example, your target for 2025 will be to arrange one or more events, such as a litter pick, beach clean or a survey dive. You will also be asked to promote other BSAC conservation initiatives and updates within your club as well as deliver your own marine conservation-related activities, if appropriate.

Please note: the Marine Champion will NOT be expected to lead any diving or snorkelling-related activities. They will, however, need to work with the club’s Diving Officer to help organise related events and promote participation.
