Template Bye-laws for clubs
All BSAC clubs must have their own bye-laws document.
Bye-laws clarify how club procedures work. Together with the BSAC Rules and policies, a club’s bye-laws will help protect the club members and Branch Officers and help make the club run more smoothly.
You may download the template of the BSAC Club bye-laws to use as a starting point.
In support of the template you should also download a copy of BSAC Club bye-laws - Explanatory Notes.
Please ensure BSAC has a copy of your Branch bye-laws by Email.
Good bye-laws will:
- Explain to members (and non-members) what your club is about.
- Help protect club members and Branch Officers.
- Clarify how club procedures should work.
- Clarify and help sort out internal problems.
- Underpin funding applications - most funding bodies will not consider applications from groups without a constitution.
